Decreased Sex Drive

Many women experience a change in their libido because of the hormonal changes. Suddenly, they find that they cannot stand sex, or just cannot tolerate someone being so close; they may even see it as someone “hackling” or harassing their bodies. They may also be less inclined to engage in any sexual activities not only because they are experiencing decreased sexual desire but because they feel less attractive, or they want to avoid sex because of vaginal dryness or hot flashes. Understand that while this is a problem for some women, this might not affect you. You will not experience all the signs/symptoms that come with this change.

If you happen to be one of the sisters that is affected in this area, there are many herbal products that may be used to help in putting you in the mood; visit your local health food stores. You may also want to discuss this problem with your gynecologist who may prescribe hormone therapy or other medication. Some women simply feel tired and nervous and those are going to affect how they feel about sex. It is important to get enough sleep, decrease stress, eat healthily and take your vitamin supplements. Participate in some form of exercise; even it is just walking for a few minutes on a daily basis.
